影片讲述了在百余年时光流转中，不同时代的人和“今日”发生的意味深长的交响。以三个不同时代的故事串联而成，梁启超、黎锦熙、鲁迅、王梓坤、启功、莫言、余华等一代代师者的“今日”，组成了师道传承的一曲激荡长歌。一朝一夕，今日即逝；一时一刻，今日须惜。不同时代，皆有殊途同归的共鸣：知之行之，无负今日。。凌希在家变之前对自己的父母存在误会，因此养成冷傲任性的性格。但是父亲的生意危机和病危，母亲的力不从心迫使她不得不成长起来。最终，她在自己的努力和朋友的帮助下接过重担，不仅改善了家里的困境，为父母撑起一片天，自己也得到了成长。。Martin Ellingham, a London-based surgeon, relocates to the picturesque seaside village of Port Wenn, establishing himself as the area's general practitioner.
