So, on his recommendation, I bought a copy, since I didn't know if it would ever be on TV again. I had never heard of anybody in it except Armand Assante. At first I had a hard time getting into the story, because the first part of the movie is a jumble of images-- and...。该剧主要讲述了“哑妹”从一个被别人买卖的苦孩子，自强不息与苦难命运抗争，终成为一个带着村里人奔向小康生活的女村长的故事。为了能塑造好“哑妹”这一人物，剧组特地邀请了素有“苦情女王”之称的演员李琳担纲女一号。。
